GEL does not collect your data.
That is the whole policy, but Apple and anyone who cares deserve the specifics, so here they are.
Nothing. GEL has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, and no third-party software development kits. The app makes no network requests at all. There is no server to send anything to.
Everything. Your logged sets, your saved boards, your settings and your history are stored on the device and nowhere else. They are included in your device backup if you back your phone up, because that is your backup, not ours.
Deleting the app deletes all of it. There is no account to close and no request to file, because there is nothing held anywhere else.
GEL uses the camera to read colour. The image is processed on the device, in the moment, to work out what colour you are pointing at. Nothing is recorded, saved, or transmitted. No photo or video is written to storage. If you deny camera access, every other part of GEL still works.
GEL can read colour from an existing photo. It does this through the standard iOS picker, which hands the app only the single image you choose. GEL never requests access to your photo library and cannot browse it.
GEL is rated 4+ and collects no data from anyone, of any age.
There are none. No analytics provider, no advertising network, no cloud service, no data broker. Nobody receives anything, because nothing is gathered to send.
This website, gel.cold.fyi, is separate from the app. Like most websites it may record basic request information through its host. It sets no advertising or tracking cookies.
If this policy ever changes, the date above changes with it. If GEL ever starts collecting anything, that will be stated plainly here and in the app before it happens, not buried in a revision.
GEL is made by Third Polar Arch. Third Polar Arch's general privacy policy is at thirdpolararch.com/privacy and covers the company's other products and services. Where the two differ regarding GEL, this page governs.
